What to expect
More than teaching in another country, this is a unique learning and development opportunity.
Life changing experience
Prepare to challenge your senses and immerse yourself in a culturally diverse location full of surprises. With amazing scenery, architecture and some of the best tourist destinations the world has to offer. Working in China will give you a new perspective on life.
Shine only works with organisations in China that we have a close working relationship with. Our UK staff will provide you with a great deal of information about how to successfully transition to China. You certainly won’t be alone in China; a liaison officer will be available to guide and support you. We pride ourselves on making this a great experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.
You will receive a generous salary with a full package which could include accommodation, flights, insurance and a free trip home each year. The exact package will be detailed in the relevant job advert.
During your assignment in China you will be working with a mixture of British Early Years Practitioners and local Teachers all of whom will be trained to deliver the Shine International Bilingual Curriculum (IBC), parts of which you will recognise as being similar to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
The IBC is delivered in both English and Mandarin and you will be encouraged to deliver creative activities to support the themed teaching plan.
You will also have access to Shine’s continuous professional development program to ensure you have all the skills and knowledge you need to progress as an International Kindergarten Teacher (In China we say Teacher rather than Early Years Practitioner.)
To make sure you always have someone to talk to, you will also be linked to a liaison officer to help you settle in and to answer any questions you might have.
You will also meet some of our UK staff on a regular basis as we provide ongoing support and training.
